CERTIFIED POOL OPERATOR® (C.P.O.)
Who should be certified? There should be a trained and certified operator at every pool facility. ie.; Hotels, Motels, Apartments, Condominiums, Therapy Facility Pools, Kiddie or Wading Pools, Competition Pools, Park Pools and Water Parks or any other commercial venue that offers a swimming pool for recreation. Owners and Managers of such facilities are also responsible for the safety of the pool, which is a good reason for them to be certified as well.

The CPO® course is designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques and skill of pool and spa operation. This body of knowledge is covered in the 18 chapters, as well as the glossary and appendices of the NSPF Pool & Spa Operator Handbook®. The course is designed to offer the knowledge necessary to maintain, operate and manage public pools and spas.

Course Learning Outcomes:
-Know what your role as an operator plays in pool operation.
-Know the components of a good management plan.
-Develop a network of resources
-Be able to identify physical, chemical and biological hazard asssciated with the pool environment.       
-Know the steps to minimize physical, chemical and biological hazards        associated with the pool environment.
-Know local regulations
-Understand the need for testing and documention as it relates to pool and spa operation.
-Ability to perform pool calculations as they relate to the pool and equipment measurements and chemical usage computations.

The course will also teach you to understand the basic concepts of
-Pool Management
-Water Quality Management
-System Components
-System Maintenance
-Pool and Spa Design
-Special needs of Hot Water Spa Environments

The CPO®  program can be taken as a two-day class that covers 14-16 hours of information from the NSPF Pool & Spa Operator Handbook® (provided) or in a blended course by taking the Pool Operator Primer training online (you must score 100% on all 8 test) along with the Pool Operator Fusion Class. (This is a one day class that is offered as a convenient way to achieve the CPO® Certification)
